Buzz!™: The Music Quiz
Buzz!™: The Music Quiz is a music gameshow for your PlayStation2 which comes complete with authentic gameshow-style buzzers. It was published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe in October 2005. Some have called it "a genuine slice of genius", but such hyperbole should be left to the critics.
Buzz!™ is a game that we're immensely proud of. While our peers in other developers were working on the next shooting or driving game, we created something for a different market. When it was announced at E3 2005 no one paid it much attention, but it became the sleeper hit that Christmas and remains a favourite to this day.
As well as working closely with Sony we worked with other great development partners. Sleepydog dug through the archives to find the best music clips and questions and Somethin' Else, who previously worked on You Don't Know Jack, provided a great script and commentary from the inimitable Jason Donovan.
When we look back on Buzz!™: The Music Quiz we wince at some of the pacing and the 70s style studio and are reminded that our Buzz!™ titles have come a long way since then, but it's still a game that's a lot of fun to play and sits pride of place in Relentless' display cabinet.
